New Orleans Saints Quarterback Drew Brees is the cover athlete for Madden NFL 11. Brees was the first player to be voted for as the cover athlete of Madden, fans had a choice between Minnesota Vikings Defensive End Jared Allen, Indianapolis Colts Wide Receiver Reggie Wayne, or Drew Brees. Brees also led the Saints to a Super Bowl victory in the 2009-10 NFL season.

Gameplay[]

  • Simpler: Call plays like an NFL coach with ease with an all-new play-calling system, GameFlow.
  • Quicker: The new play-calling system will enable players to spend more time on the field than in the playbook.
  • Deeper: Many improved animations and control options, enhanced online functionality, and new broadcast and authentic NFL audio presentation that delivers the NFL experience. Also plugging in a headset will the coach's voice in your ear, offering heads-up strategy after the huddle.
  • Audibling System: New and easier audibles to dial up more plays.
  • New QB Rankings: New and improved QB ratings, based on Awareness, Agility, Stamina, Throwing Power, Throwing Accuracy, and Toughness.
  • Improved Run-Blocking: Easier to run with core run plays.
  • New Kicking Engine: New kicking meter using a button mashing system.
  • Improved Locomotion: Introduces an increased significance on speed, agility, and momentum.
  • Online Team Play: This allows 3-vs-3 co-operative play online.
  • Online Boosts: Only available in online co-op play, this gives you attribute boosts in games. This must be bought in the in-game store.
  • Online Scouting: This allow players to get scouting reports on their opponents. This must be bought in the in-game store.

  • Cut Scenes: New cut scenes include players in the locker room before a game and players getting off the team bus in the parking lot.
  • Player Details: New and improved graphics and textures of player with their helments off using a new multicamera, hi-res system.
  • Super Bowl Celebration: New celebration scenes after the Super Bowl.
  • Commentary: New commentary provided by Gus Johnson and Cris Collinsworth.
